About us
Located in Burnet County three miles north of Marble Falls off Highway 281, Dos Conchas Ranch is an 800-acre working horse and cattle ranch. It is the home of Eddie and Dale Shell, both lawyers of Shell and Shell Attorneys at Law. Dos Conchas Ranch is an amazing Texas country adventure destination. Still standing on the property, the original ranch house was built in the early 1900s. Remnants of another original log cabin also remain. The Dos Conchas Ranch also features a real-life tree house for guests. Overlooking the Shell’s rodeo arena, horse stalls, and the beautiful Hill Country landscape, it is fully air conditioned, accommodates 4-8, and was designed and decorated by Eddie and his sister, Peggy.
The crown jewel of Dos Conchas Ranch is the fully operational Texas dance Hall, known as the Cadillac Dance Hall. It is open the last Saturday of every month and has a house band called Eddie Shell and The Not Guilties. This dance band is known throughout Central Texas and has performed in many well-known dance halls, including the Broken Spoke and Angel’s in Austin, Texas.
Dos Conchas Ranch boasts a rich local history. The rugged hill country ranch land was settled by the Edwards family circa 1800’s - pre-civil war. Situated at the north edge of Marble Falls with its panoramic views of Backbone Valley, the ranch is a living slice of frontier history. It is just down the road from the old Fairland community, where many of the ranch’s original founders rest in peace in the family cemetery. A 500 acre tract of the ranch still remained in their family until 2005 when local attorney Eddie Shell and his physician son, Dr. Eddie Shell, purchased the land which adjoins Eddie and wife Dale’s homestead ranch.
